Welcome to Lazette Gifford's Newsletter. In this (hopefully more frequent) newsletter you will find news on my latest publications, word on what I have been involved in elsewhere, and even occasional stories, chapters and articles. I hope that you enjoy the reading! Newsletter Dated: 5/19/2001 12:39:17 PMSubject: Mid-May Madness May 19, 2001
April was an exciting month for me, writing-wise. And May started off nicely as well, but it seems to be getting away from me!
One of my favorite humorous fantasy stories is now available at Dragonlaugh e-zine (http://dragonlaugh.freeyellow.com/04011.HTM ). 'A Warrior's Work Is Never Done' is the story of a woman kidnapped from the army to protect a rather obnoxious Lord. Things do not quite work out well.
The May Issue of Holly Lisle's Vision: A Resource for Writers is also now available: http://lazette.net/vision Besides providing the space for the ezine, I am the managing editor and web designer. This issue has a number of excellent articles, including three pieces on creating religions for fantasy manuscripts.
I hope to be at the ConQuest SF convention in Kansas City over the Memorial Day Weekend. This is a very 'iffy' possibility right now, but I'm going to give it a try. I've always enjoyed attending ConQuest, and it's always fun.
When I visited my AuthorsDen site today, I found that they've added a new poetry section. I don't often write poetry, but I thought I would share a piece of amusing fluff that I wrote last year entitled 'The Angst of Hero Naming.' I hope you enjoy it.
