1. EDITORIAL:

Welcome back, EveryONE! And a special Welcome to new subscribers! *~:) What a wonderful community of Spirits amongst us. Thanks for sending me your lovely letters of encouragement, inspiration, and gratitude. I really appreciate and treasure them all! It’s been a most enjoyable week here in Texas with days of sunshine and rain. I am thankful for both, and so is Mother Earth’s other life forms! It also gives me time to reflect upon what I, personally am doing to help preserve, honor and sustain her. We always recycle, reuse and use our garbage disposal for all our consumer wastes. It cuts down on garbage tremendously. Checking the ingredients of different products such as cleansers, shampoos, detergents, and pesticides will go a long way into preserving our planet as well. Always think in long term, not short term and easiest! What are you doing to help heal Mother Earth?
I have made a change in this week’s newsletter. Instead of quotes I have inserted Riddles! I hope you get as much enjoyment out of them as I do. As in quotes, riddles prompts one stop and ponder a new perspective. We often become so set in our ways of seeing the world in a certain viewpoint and never stop to realize there are many different ways to observe life and all it offers. Riddles are another way of nudging us into new frontiers. The answers to the riddles I’m sharing will be given in next week’s newsletter. Let’s make it fun! 2. TRIVIA/FACTS:

*The New York phone book had 22 Hitlers listed before World War II and none after.
*Is Winnie the Pooh really named for Winnipeg? Yes. The "bear of very little brain" was named after a real life cub that was called Winnipeg or Winnie for short. A Captain Harry Colebourn bought the bear cub in 1914 in White River, Ontario and took it overseas with him to England. He named it Winnipeg after his hometown in Manitoba. When Colebourn had to leave for the battlefields of France, he put the bear in the London Zoo where it became a big attraction. On returning from the war, Colebourn decided to leave the bear at the zoo. Two of the visitors to the zoo were A.A. Milne and his son Christopher who became big fans of the bear, and Milne later used the bear's name in his famous books.
*Did Thomas Edison really invent the light bulb? Thomas Edison, neither invented the light bulb, nor held the first patent to the modern design of the light bulb. Joseph Swan, a British inventor, obtained the first patent for the same light bulb in Britain one year prior to Edison's patent date. Swan even publicly unveiled his carbon filament light bulb in New Castle, England a minimum of 10 years before Edison shocked the world with the announcement that he invented the first light bulb. Edison's light bulb, in fact, was a carbon copy of Swan's light bulb.
*What are falling stars? Contrary to popular belief, "falling stars" are not stars at all, but are meteors, solid bodies that travel through space. Meteors, ranging in size from that of a pinhead, to many tons, are visible to the naked eye at night, when the friction between the surfaces of the meteors and of the air, produces heat as the meteors enter the earth's atmosphere. The intense heat incinerates the meteors, which leave a blazing trail of light in their wake.
