1. EDITORIAL:
First I'd like to welcome all the new subscribers! I hope you find nuggets of inspiration and worthiness here. I certainly enjoy the pleasure of creating this newsletter every week and sharing what I find.*~:) Next I wish to give a special thanks to those of you who took some time to read and rate and comment on my poems at Authors Den. It's greatly appreciated and your warm words touched my heart. Thank YOU!
In a recent issue I mentioned http://www.iPublish.com as a writing site to visit. A fellow writer/friend, Nan Jacobs - http://www.marinelifemag.com/ - sent me some interesting facts about their terms. Here's a short excerpt from the Author's Guild about iPublish.com. "New York -- The Authors Guild today warned its members that experimenting in digital publishing with Time Warner's new iPublish division presents substantial legal risks and loss of literary rights for little pay. The Guild urged all writers, including new writers not yet eligible for Guild membership, to approach iPublish with extreme caution. Established writers who are merely dabbling in a new medium may find they've inadvertently granted a laundry list of rights to Time Warner and agreed to a bargain-basement advance for print rights to their work. Worse yet, writers surrender rights to their next work as well, agreeing to sell the digital rights to iPublish for advances as low as $25 or less." As with any site I share here, please ALWAYS read the terms and make sure you understand what you are selling to any web site you submit for publication. It will save you headaches down the road and any legal ramifications that might go against you. So with those thoughts in mind, onward to the jewels I found this week.

Charles Crépeau is an amateur guitarist and songwriter. He plays the blues and writes songs for the pleasure of it. It is a hobby. He is the founder of the Songwriters Drive-in the friendly place for amateur artists. SDI was created to help the newcomer artist to develop their talent and preventing them from being exploited during their quest for their dream (read about the Songsharks ). SDI is a private organism dedicated to songwriting business for amateurs. At SDI we are all amateurs that are trying to work their way to the top. Created by year end 1998, SDI launched its first monthly contest, the OLMC contest that is very popular because there is no entry fee and all contestants gets a free evaluation of their lyrics.

New Concepts Publishing was the first, continuously operating electronic publisher in the world. Regardless, ebooks are still the new kid on the block and authors submitting should be aware that, although we offer the best royalty percentages possible, royalties at this time are not comparable to royalties paid by the megacorporation print publishers, who have been establishing their markets for 50 years or more. We are still building our markets, but are probably best established in the Romance Market (single title), which is where we began. Regardless, we're interested in building across the board, and are acquiring in all genres, including Series Romance, Children and Young Adult. Since we are building markets, we require a minimum commitment of 2 years for exclusive electronic rights. Also, we are about to venture into print publication, but books will be offered exclusively as ebooks for the first year, so you should not look to see the book in print until at least a year after the book is released as an ebook. We are first and foremost an electronic publisher.

We give unpublished writers a chance to be rewarded for their work and where readers could prospect for literary gems. One of the major differences between us and similar Sites is that we offer three or more chapters of each book so that a reader may actually sample the writing and the writer gets a chance to hook the reader on their story. All in all, it's a great place to browse, just like a real bookstore. We also treat our writers very well by returning to them up to or over five times what a paper publisher gives them on each sale. They did the hard work of writing the book and we feel they should get the majority of the proceeds from it.

This information is delivered through a woman named Mary. When these sessions began, she wasn't aware of the phenomenon of "channeling," or what Elias calls an "energy exchange of essence." In spite of this, Mary jumped in with both feet. She has done close to 600 sessions in 5 years, most of which are 1 to 3 hours in length. 6. WORTHY NOTATIONS:
As an alternative to George W. Bush's energy policies and lack of emphasis on efficiency, conservation and alternative fuels, there will be a voluntary rolling blackout on the first day of summer, June 21, from 7 p.m. - 10 p.m. It doesn't matter what time zone, what state, what country you're in. If we all turn out the lights at 7 p.m. regardless of where we live, the "blackout" will roll across the planet! It's a simple protest and a symbolic act. Turn out your lights, televisions, radios and more from 7 p.m. - 10 p.m. on June 21. If it plugs in, turn it off! Light a candle to read by, kiss your lover in the moonlight, take a stroll in the dark, tell your children ghost stories, or make up a new and innovative activity that requires no electricity. All you have to do is have fun in the dark. Forward this information as widely as possible, to your government representatives and environmental contacts.
