1. EDITORIAL:
A special WELCOME to all the new subscribers and to everyone namaste *~:)
Well tomorrow, June 21st has lots of activity happening around it! It's the day of our Summer Solstice. It's a New Moon. There's a total solar eclipse that will be viewable in the South Atlantic and South Central Africa. There is also a global campaign being shared over the Internet asking people to turn off all electricity from 7-10pm no matter where you live. Further information of this is listed near the bottom of this newsletter. There are also groups across the Internet planning for a worldwide healing of our Earth and the well being of all that lives on this planet. So lots of activity and I hope you find time to celebrate some of them. This week's websites for writers are ALL paying markets! Today, I hope you find one or more of them useful to your writes. 2. TRIVIA/FACTS:
On June 20,1948 - The television variety program "The Ed Sullivan Show" was first aired. Called "Toast of the Town" until 1955, the Ed Sullivan Show presented more than 10,000 performers, including Elvis Presley, The Rolling Stones, and The Beatles. Ed Sullivan hosted the show until 1971.
Did You Know? A species of sponge, called the red sponge, can be pushed through a piece of fabric so that it is broken into thousands of tiny pieces. The animal does not die. Rather, all the pieces reassemble until the sponge returns to its original form.
Did You Know? Gold was first used as jewelry in parts of Central and Eastern Europe in 4000BC.

As an alternative to George W. Bush's energy policies and lack of emphasis on efficiency, conservation and alternative fuels, there will be a voluntary rolling blackout on the first day of summer, June 21, from 7 p.m. - 10 p.m. It doesn't matter what time zone, what state, what country you're in. If we all turn out the lights at 7 p.m. regardless of where we live, the "blackout" will roll across the planet! It's a simple protest and a symbolic act. Turn out your lights, televisions, radios and more from 7 p.m. - 10 p.m. on June 21. If it plugs in, turn it off! Light a candle to read by, kiss your lover in the moonlight, take a stroll in the dark, tell your children ghost stories, or make up a new and innovative activity that requires no electricity. All you have to do is have fun in the dark. Forward this information as widely as possible, to your government representatives and environmental contacts.
