Sudden panic on the island of Atlantis
Is precipitated by intestinal gurgling
Within the volcanic cone of Mount Thira.
The impending cataclysm evokes terror
And fear amongst priests and sybarites alike
As the end of the world becomes self-evident.
In a final gesture of prayer and submission,
The doomed hostages of angry gods and nature
Kneel before images of the Great Mother
With fists to brow while the riotous movement
Of bubbling lava and gases escalates into
A hysterical dance macabre to-the-sea as
The earth is purged of decadent overindulgence.

I pray to the seed
in every human being
so that the other color of skin,

the golden spikes of peace.
If I don't work for this right,
I don't deserve the peace I have .

"Basque Argentine"

Pampa is a sphere, pampa is an emerald
into the sharp eyes of the Basque grandfather.

The beret is slanted, his eyebrows are like a town,
his straight ideas are planning miracles.

Severe figure of strong postage,
the hands of steel, the heart of summer.

Temperament of tribal lineage.
Referring at home, warrior at life.

One day, destiny in hands, his ship started a trip.
When he arrived, Native Star filled his yearnings with her smoothest shine.

Here and now, brave and sincere, it grows
the flower of Native and Basque roots.

Family and work are the North.
Ferrous is her temper and postage like him.

Past, present and future destiny finally she finds.
Grandfather encouraging her into her blood.
She is the Basque Argentine .

VASCO ARGENTINO

El agro se esfera, esmeralda del agro...
en los ojos preclaros del abuelo vasco.

La boina está al sesgo, las cejas son pueblo,
las ideas son rectas planeando milagros.

Severa figura de porte fornido,
las manos de acero, el corazón de estío.

Temperamento de estirpe tribal.
Guerrero en la vida, referente en el hogar.

Un día, blandiendo designios
partió aquella nave.

Estrella nativa colmó sus anhelos
con brillo tan suave.

Hoy crece aquí, valiente y sincera
la flor de raíces criolla y eusquera.

Familia y trabajo es el norte.
Es férreo su temple y mismo es el porte.

Pasado, presente y futuro destino.
Abuelo que alienta en la sangre del
Vasco argentino
