The last several newsletters were far less than satisfactory from my point of view. Each one needed a drawing or sketch to clarify the word pictures of the item presented. Unfortunately, the system used here at The Authors Den does not permit the use of graphics in any form. Neither does it allow the use of hot links within the text, leading directly to a graphics file located elsewhere.

I now believe it would be best to find another launching pad for the dispatch of future newsletters. One that will allow me to provide the missing illustrations that I know will make them easier for you to understand. After all, we all do know that a picture often really is worth a thousand words, particularly when the words I use may have been born in a far different world than yours.

My first thought was to simply use my Hotmail account. I then realized that if I do, I would have to ask you to send me an email advising of the desired email address you wish future newsletters mailed to, as I do not now have access here to your complete address. I rather like the idea of NOT having it, as I then know that no one other than the employees of the web service can see and mine the list for addition of your names to a for-sale spam list. Unfortunately, a true hacker can easily find a way into anyone's personal email name list and I don't know of any way to eliminate enough of your address to stop them from adding it to their list if I place it on my personal Hotmail one. I also realize that MSN has placed a rather modest limit on the graphic files available to each person and that I would soon bump right against the limit.

I then noted that Yahoo has now included a name-hiding feature to their email Groups communities that will allow each member to decide if they wish their address revealed for public view. It will also allow each member to select the place they wish to read all messages directed to them. Best of all, it will support the addition of graphic files directly to those email messages that are the basis of the Yahoo Groups program. Further, there does not appear to be a limit to the size of the message, so photos or drawings of major digital size can be included when needed.

So, with all said and done, The Frugal Woodworker's Journal is moving to its new home on Yahoo effectively immediately. Here is the key to our new front door and we invite you in for a fresh look at the new digs.
