My current series of newsletters, titled, "The Frugal Woodworker's Journal" will be devoted to introducing various simple projects made of salvaged wood obtained from discarded scrap. From items such as trashed wood pallets, boxes and crates. Items that would otherwise have found their way into a local solid waste landfill.
While there is certainly a wealth of economic advantage available through your use of trash wood as the material of choice for many simple projects needed by every home woodworker, there are other benefits too. It is the most practical material for the beginning craftsperson to use, as it can be used without any concern about ruining it. After all, how in the world can you possibly hurt scrap wood? But, I don’t intend this to be reserved for them alone. This information will prove to be as useful to the very accomplished woodworker as to the novice when any of those many utilitarian projects are built. And who says you can’t teach an old dog a new trick? I keep learning new ones each and every day.

Newsletter Dated: 4/24/2002 6:09:17 PMSubject: The Frugal Woodworker's Journal - Update This newsletter has fallen into a nasty pattern lately in that it simply has not been published on any sort of consistent basis. Sorry about that, but is still worth every cent you have been paying for it so I guess the inconsistency will have to do until I can muster up some kind of fresh ambition.
I really don't have anything new to offer today but do want to try and update a few references that have been given in past editions that have since been changed by the folks who have provided the sites involved.
While they are much the same, MSN has changed their reference to a "File" to "Document" so the links given for several of the sketches simply will no longer work. Here are the two primary ones listed on the earlier newsletters if you would like to take a fresh look at them.

Since the weather has started to improve recently here, I expect that I will again get the urge to make a fresh supply of sawdust and will have more to say soon.
