I had to send out an email to say thank you to all of the artists and others who made the EMANCIPATION show a tremendous success! Thanks to the support of the community, we will be donating $350 to the Friendship Connection, an organization that works with female ex-offenders that had problems with drug and alcohol abuse. Special thanks goes out to the Webb, Sims, and Johnson families for the help with the food and other odd jobs. And the artists: Mary Kay consultant Angela Moore and her team, Jack-Town Ballers, Scott Albert Johnson, Searching for Stars winners, Kuumba African Dance Co., Martha Simpson, Tim Collins, Ryzinson, Duane Scott, and all the open mic participants. A big congratulations goes out to Next of Kindredz (N.O.K.) for a terrific showcase! They rocked it and stole the show with their N.O.K. wear and other promotional items.
