What is Conversations Book Club?
Conversations Book Club has been nationally recognized as one of the top literary groups in the United States. The organization made history in 2007 by hosting the most authors of any literary group and was recognized in February 2008 by the Newark Public Library in New Jersey during their ENTRUSTED TO OUR KEEPING: The Legacy of African-American Literary Societies in Newark, the Nation, the World ceremonies. Since its inception in November 2006, it has hosted over 50 authors at no charge to attendees or participants, with the goal of encouraging reading and uniting readers with authors they love. Conversations has interviewed over 100 authors over the past 20 months through his online radio program and for its ezine, creating a collage of literary talent that spans race, gender and backgrounds. Whether they are New York Times Bestsellers, Essence Bestsellers or just starting off, Conversations has talked with them, hosted them or introduced them to the public.
Curently there are seven chapters of Conversations in Mississippi along with one chapter each in Memphis, TN and New Orleans, LA.
