Summer is over here in the South. Labor Day observances included folding away all the white slacks and shorts and putting our white shoes in boxes with their purses to be pulled out again at Easter time.

SOS (The Society of Stranders) will begin their fall migration soon and there will be much beach music and and shagging on the strand in Hilton Head, James Island, Myrtle Beach, Ocean Drive and up the North Carolina coast to Nags Head. As the shaggers say good-bye to the summer and retire their bermudas and weejuns the rest of us will be cruising the bookshelves for new books to get us through the dull days of Fall and the cold days of winter. Never let it be said that the South is always warm. It is only in our hearts. We need electric blankets just like the rest of you.

This fall in time for school to start we have a ne book
