I am not the "usual" romance novelist, so this newsletter will reflect that. My book isn't the heaving bosoms and straining thighs sort, which is not to say that there aren't some sizzling scenes hidden in the pages. I wrote the kind of book that I wanted to read-entertaining, not brain frying, a few jokes thrown in here and there, and best of all, a good story. I'll include an excerpt in the first one. And perhaps a little something else too...:-) Newsletter Dated: 8/12/2001 2:35:19 PMSubject: A little about me and a few bits 'n pieces of "Brianna's Escape" I'm a Libra, my favorite gem is Opal, and my favorite colors are teal and lilac. My hobbies include crocheting everything from large afghans to small Irish roses, baking yeast breads (made entirely by hand before I got a bread machine), and trying out new recipes. I have 3 cats-all black and whites-named Squeeze, Bradley, and Ranger. I hate bleu cheese and liverworst. Yes, that is how I spell it :-) and I absolutely love a good cup of coffee. My favorite flowers are Iris. I just love the way the look and smell wonderful too.
Ok...enough about me. Onto the good stuff. This is where Brianna Donnelley first meets Gregg White Eagle.
"At 6:25 on the dot, the front door opened, she turned around to see who came in. A tall man, a little over 6’, stood in the door for a moment and took off his sunglasses. He had on a pair of faded jeans ripped at the right knee, a black t-shirt, and a pair of well worn boots. A silver earring-a feather-dangled from his earlobe. His left bicep was tattooed with an eagle’s head. He probably has a cocky walk, she thought to herself as she sipped her coffee. As he walked toward the counter, she realized she was wrong. He didn’t have a cocky walk, he had a cocky stride. That sort of drag-your-heels-as-you-walk-from-your-hips step that cowboys develop after riding horses for too long…."
Now, I guess you will want to read a little bit from the love scene. The first one anyway. That I can do...
She walked back to her bedroom and put the clothes away. She shut the closet door and found Gregg standing there. “Something wrong?” “No. I was just wondering if this one was ok.” He held up the video for her to see. “It’s fine. I don’t care.” “Neither do I.” He dropped the video on the chair by the door, took two long strides toward her, and kissed her hard. She clung to his back, returning his kiss with equal fervor. He lifted her t-shirt out of her jeans and slid his hands underneath the cotton. The first touch of his hands against her bare skin was almost electric. The heat in the air wasn’t just from the desert sun. He pulled her closer to him and she felt the button of his jeans pressing into her stomach. . His tongue forced it’s way into her mouth while his hands lay claim to her body. She unbuttoned his shirt and it fell to the floor. He pulled hers off and stripped her of her bra a moment later. He pushed her against the wall with his hips. “See what you do to me, Brianna? I’m not in control anymore.” “I don’t care about control. Just…” He kicked off his boots and lifted her up on his hips in one fast motion. He cut off her words with a kiss. Her breath was ragged and she could feel his...
And that's enough of that...got to get back to my other books now. :-)
