“Ready?” she asked. Tate swore she hid a smile. Yes, she probably loved the idea of causing him distress.



He nodded. Whitney placed one gloved finger at his brow to draw the wound taut, then carefully stuck the needle through the skin. Again, Tate didn’t so much as flinch, even though the small prick hurt like hell.



After pulling the thread through the wound and tying it off, she snipped the end. “You doing okay?”



Hell, no, he wanted to shout. Having her this close between his spread thighs was much more torturous than any needle and thread going through his skin. Like it or not, she had sent his blood pumping in his veins. It was a wonder the wound didn’t spray a crimson fountain. As it was, his leathers had suddenly become constricting.



“Just stitch the god-damned wound,” he grumbled. What did he care if she thought any worse of him. He needed to get the hell out of the hospital and as far away from the doc as possible.



Moments later, she snipped the last stitch and checked her handiwork. “You’re going to live. Doesn’t look like you’ll get much of a scar from this.”



Tate studied Whitney as her finger gently traced the wound. When their eyes locked, he felt as though someone had delivered a sucker-punch to his gut. He couldn’t remember the last time he had wanted a woman as badly as he did the classy lady before him. As of late, taking a chick to bed had become more of a habit, just a routine, something he did. But this one…this one he wanted with the force of a hurricane. Somehow she had gotten beneath his skin.



And that…that he never allowed…


New Contest!! Give my hero and heroine last names!

To help me celebrate my new release, EYES OF BETRAYAL, from Amber Quill press I have come up with a new contest! For my next book, LOVE YOU TO PIECES, I am having trouble giving my new hero and heroine last names. So, to enter, all you need do is send an email to me with the word 'Contest' in the subject line and tell me what you would like me to use as character's last names.

My hero, Jaycen, and my heroine, Sara, need last names. So in the body of your email to me, tell me what you think their last names should be. The winner will receive a free autographed copy of my latest book, EYES OF BETRAYAL. One book for the hero's last name and one book for the heroine's. I will also include the winners' names in the acknowledgements of the book as having given the hero/heroine their last name.
