Hoppy Easter! :)

Just as the tulips in the backyard were beginning to burst through the ground and the crocus out front were
blossoming, we received a couple of inches of snow. Folks around here tell me, "If you don't like the weather in Missouri, just a wait a moment. It'll change." You know what? They're right!

And speaking of changes, my calendar this month has me
"hopping" all over the place. On Wednesday, March 6 at
4:30 PM I'll be an "on-the-air" guest on the "Talk from the Heart with Debra Peppers." If you happen to live in the St. Louis area, dial your radio to KJSL AM 630. I'll be discussing the GOD ALLOWS U-TURNS project

writing. I'm nervous, but Debra is a sweetheart. It should be a lot of fun.

I recently sold another story that will appear in the third volume of the GAUT series. When people ask me to

On March 15-16, I'll be in Memphis, TN, at the Duel on the Delta Writers' Conference. The action takes place at the Peabody Hotel--you know, the one with the famous
"parading ducks" who live in a penthouse suite and swim
all day in the hotel's fountain. I met some of the Peabody ducks a couple of years ago in Orlando. I can't wait to meet their cousins! And of course, I can't wait to visit with some of YOU, too. So if you're attending, do stop and introduce yourself at the autograph session on Saturday. I'll be the blonde passing out bookmarkers, yakking with everyone and making a general fool of myself. I guess that's why people tell me I'm so easy to spot!

Q: What is your favorite event to watch during the Winter Olympics?
A: I love them all, but the figure skating has to be the best. I love the musicality and the grace of the skaters. It's so romantic. They make it look easy, don't they? I kept my fingers crossed for an "American sweep" of the ladies'figure skating medals. We came awfully close. Congratulations to Sarah Hughes and Michelle Kwan! I can't wait until 2006.
