I hope all of you are well and enjoying the summer. September is fast approaching so I wanted to update everyone on what’s been going on. As you may have heard I finished up my goal of visiting every state in the continental U.S. last month when I went to North Dakota and South Dakota. The folks up there were very hospitable, but I must say it wasn’t any cooler is Bismarck than it was when I left Dallas. Now all that is left is Alaska and Hawaii.

Well Cash Call, the fourth Stan Turner Mystery, is set for a September release, however it has already made it to the distributors so you can order your copy right now. Barnes and Noble has the best deal at 30% off which means you can get it for less than $10. (http://www.bn.com) Of course if you live close by I’d rather see you at one of my signings. I’ll be all over the DFW Metroplex in September. Check my calendar for locations and times. If you live in the Philadelphia area I’ll be there this weekend at Barnes & Noble in Bryn Mawr, PA at 2pm Saturday. The following weekend, Sat 24th, I’ll be at Barnes & Noble in Grapevine, TX.

I found at yesterday that I’m going to be the Barnes & Noble Author of the Month for the DFW Area in September. What that will mean is that they will be featuring Cash Call at all the stores and displaying them prominently. Barnes and Noble has been very generous to me over the years and last year stocked Second Chair in all their stores across the nation. Borders, on the other hand, won’t give me the time of day. If any of you are customers of Borders you could help me out by asking if they have Cash Call and the other Stan Turner Mysteries in stock. Maybe if they get enough requests for it they’ll start stocking it.

During the third week of September I’ll be in Ft.Lauderdale, Florida for the SEBA Trade Show and the last weekend of the month Carl Brookins and I will be holding down the Top Publications booth in St. Paul, Minnesota. Carl’s new book, A Superior Mystery, will be out by then and we’ll both be signing at the trade show and around town.

Next year’s book, a second Rich Coleman Novel, is finished and ready to go. The title is being kept secret so nobody can steal it. As you may have seen a romance author stole my title, Twice Tempted, after my first book came out. We redid the Death Pact cover and did extensive editing so it’s looks a lot better and all the irritating typos are gone. In fact, if anyone bought one of the original copies of Death Pact, just email me your address and I’ll send you a free updated version.

Right now I’m working a non-fiction book for small business owners. It’s basically my observations over the years as to why so many small businesses fail. I looking for an agent right now to try to place it. I’ll leave you with a poem that may be included in the book which will be called, Yes, We’re Open, Small Businesses Under Siege.
