Okay, you've probably all noticed that it's been a while and a few skipped months since the last newsletter. I admit it, I'm a procrastinator. This and the pickings being slim with and my not having too much to report while in deep editorial hel—I mean heaven and promo hade—I mean paradise, can all be contributed to the delay. Of course, my original intent was never to bombard your boxes monthly with worthless dribble, but something of relative newsworthy substance. Now that I've gotten all the excuses out of the way…

As usual, hope this issue of the newsletter finds you all well and you're managing to keep cool in the middle of this heatwave.

So without further ado, let's begin again:

BREAKING NEWS!

If you haven't heard already, Dreams Unlimited, indy e-publisher of my debut novel "New Life Incognita," officially closed its cyber-doors 5/22/01. The move was made after intense negotiations to merge with another indy e-publisher fell through. On an up note, many of DU's authors and titles left stranded by the sudden closing have contracted with other publishers—both in the print and e-publishing sector.

In a related story, "New Life Incognita", one of several DU titles picked up and contracted by Canadian indy publisher, LTDBooks (http://www.ltdbooks.com) is now available and live on the site. So if you haven't had a chance to check out this novel of reincarnation and paranormal romance, don't miss the boat now. And while you're there, check out the other exciting and award winning titles available at LTDBooks.
On the horizon for "New Life Incognita" at this e-publishing house…print (in Print-on-Demand, Trade Paperback)! I'll be sure and keep you posted as the news of print availability unfolds (so if you haven't been swayed and aren't ready or willing to jump on the electronic bandwagon, you'll still have the chance to get your dose of New Life).

To add to the excitement of May Madness, I got The Call at work 5/9/01 from CEO/Publisher NovelBooks, Inc. (http://www.novelbooksinc.com), for my paranormal djinni romance "Desert Dreams". As of this writing, the final edits are in, the site has officially had its Grand Opening and the first of NBI's "unique and surprising" titles is available in…you guessed it, digital and print format!

"Desert Dreams" is due for release November 12, 2001. Check the site often for the latest updates and happenings at NBI.

This Month's Colleague in the Spotlight:
If you're a fan of The Twilight Zone, Outer Limits and other offerings of this genre, then you'll definitely love this site. I invite you to visit Steve's SF and Fantasy Homepage at http://www.sff.net/people/nageniff. This is the place where you can delve into the creative, ironic and insightful work of talented and prolific author Steve Lazarowitz.

Contest
As no one entered the May drawing for Sue Krinard's werewolf novel "Prince of Wolves", that contest has been put on hold until a later date. However, that and other contests are planned, so look out for announcements of more giveaways in the near future—from other authors and myself. I can already tell you that I'm planning a drawing for a full-color laminated place mat (approximately 8 ½ X 12) of the cover art for "New Life Incognita" over at Road To Romance (http://www.roadtoromance.dhs.org). That contest should be starting sometime in September, so check the site for details and how to enter.
