Welcome back to this issue of The G-Spot!

Hope you’re all enjoying a wonderful spring so far .

Boy does time fly. Seems like only yesterday we were celebrating the coming birth of my niece Brianna Raven, and this June 14th we will be celebrating her first birthday! I think her Mom and all us adults are more excited than the Brianna at the moment though .

Cable/DVD’s/Movies: As you’ll see the list of movies seen (and worth mentioning) is pretty slim. However, since my last newsletter, the summer movie season seems to be shaping up decently. There is, of course, WANTED with Angelina Jolie, and HANCOCK with my fav, Will Smith, THE DARK KNIGHT, oh yeah and the remake of THE TAKING OF PELHAM with Denzel. I don’t know exactly when it’s due out (probably too long for my taste), but I definitely want to see that. After Ang Lee’s debacle with THE INCREDIBLE HULK I wasn’t sure how I felt about a remake (even one with another of my favs, Edward Norton), but since recently seeing a couple of trailers….Whoo-Hoo, I’m in there! Looks good. After THE VILLAGE (vaguely entertaining) and LADY IN THE WATER ( a total snoozer), I’m not too eager to run out and see THE HAPPENING, except it’s looking pretty good, so I might give it a chance. I’m sure I’m forgetting something (and this is after seeing recent previews). Still on the fence about INDIANA JONES, but the more previews I see for it, the more I want to see the movie. And I do like Cate Blanchett and Shia Lebeauf...

IRON MAN: Tony Stark, rich, orphaned genius and ladies' man/man about town doesn’t care about much in life but making weapons and his company’s billion dollar business. But when Tony visits Afghanistan to demonstrate a new weapon by Stark Industries, his convoy is attacked afterward with one of his own missiles and he is taken hostage by terrorists, Tony begins to rethink his priorities and the direction his company should take. Helping with this new mindset is the kindness and self-sacrifice of Tony’s fellow hostage Yinsen, a doctor who has saved his life after the attack.

I’m not going to say anymore about the movie for fear of giving too much away, except to say that it was a great movie and I absolutely loved it!

Robert Downey’s performance was flawless, just the right amount of sarcastic, quick humor and sensitive seriousness. The action sequences were excellent with great special effects. The movie itself was fast-paced with a tightly-wound plot, and the supporting roles perfectly cast and well-acted (Gwyneth Paltrow was more down-to-earth and relatable then I’ve ever seen her; Shaun Toub as Yinsen gives an affecting and stand-out performance, Beau Bridges is powerful and riveting, and of course the ever present Terrence Howard did his thing in the role of Tony's friend in the military. Probably most telling of all, however, is one of my nephews' take on the movie. A staunch Spiderman fan my man Maxx said he’d rather be Iron Man than Spiderman. Oh-oh, Spidey better look out and come on strong with his next installment before other like defections, LOL.

On the writing/professional front:

I finally decided to bite the bullet and commission a professional to build me an author website. My domain remains the same (www.graciecmckeever.com) but the site itself has undergone a major overhaul and is now ready for public viewing. The design was developed by Rae Monet. She was a joy to work with, I love what she’s created for me, and her prices are very reasonable (hey, take it from a writer on a budget, or at least one who should be on one ). I highly recommend Rae’s services to any author who wants to give themselves an edge and present an attractive and professional face to the world.

I got my mojo back! But shhhh, I don’t want to jinx myself. I’m just so happy to be creating and writing again. Late last month some character and story elements for BRUISED BUT NOT BROKEN: The Matchmaker 5 (working title. Former title was TAMING DONNA) finally fell into place. I had to change the heroine’s career and some of her character background as well as one of the heroes’ career and character background. Oh, didn’t I mention it’s my first ménage story? I know, I know, probably more than a hundred times already. I’ve also added a villain (what’s a suspense story without one?) and he’s turning out to be a real nasty character, but hey, we all have issues . We’ll see how this goes, but you’d better believe I’ll keep you all posted as to my progress on this story.

The same day I had my writing epiphany, I received an acceptance e-mail and contract for my contemporary erotica (bdsm) short story GRAY BADGE OF TRUST from Amira Press. GBoT will be released under Amira’s APShorts line. Release Date: 5/23/08!

BOUNCER’S FOLLY, the final story in my Zara’s Bois trilogy, was released earlier this month, 5/5/08 and reached #2 on Siren’s Top 10 sellers its 2nd week of release. And with that, Jason knew exactly what happened. It wasn't hard to figure out. Angelina had decided to act out his kidnap fantasy but unknowingly got the wrong brother. She'd probably intercepted him at the station. It wouldn't be the first time Jackson popped into town unannounced and showed up at the department at the end of Jason's shift. She'd been there, Jason guessed, waiting for him, blindfolded Jackson and brought him here.
Jason had waited until they were through, until Jackson blew his wad down Angelina's throat, until she leaned back on her heels to look up at him, until his own dick throbbed in painful jealously, before he spoke. Now, Angelina stared at him, her eyes huge in her face, confusion her paramount expression. Jackson's hand flew to the blindfold, jerked it up and off his head as he shot a look over his shoulder. His eyes closed on a shaky breath then he opened them as he turned to face Jason.
"Oh, God." Angelina gasped and fell back on her rump. The move was definitely not graceful and Jason got one hell of a view of bare pussy lips—thank you, crotchless panties—as her legs spread on her way down. Her gaze danced wildly from Jason to Jackson, back and forth, back and forth so quickly she reminded Jason of a cartoon character watching a ball ping-pong bouncing around wildly. "Shit," she breathed, the curse low and full of exasperation. "There are two of you."
"You didn't know we were twins?" Jackson asked, and the look he shot Jason was filled with accusation.
"No. I had no idea."
What could Jason say? It hadn't been an important factor to mention at the time? Jackson lived a good three hundred miles from Silver Springs and visited only once or twice a year for a day or so at most. Those visits generally coincided with Christmas and their father's birthday in March. They were in the middle of August, nearly smack dab in between Jackson's usual visiting months. Besides, how could he have guessed she would decide to turn criminal and end up with the wrong brother?
"And you aren't Jason, are you?" she asked and looked up at Jackson. Hope and a deep perception swirled in her so expressive eyes.
He slowly shook his head. "I'm Jackson."
Angelina nodded. "That's what you meant when you said I had the wrong guy." She winced and rubbed her forehead. "God, I thought you were just getting into the role."
"I take it you got the book?" Jason said and couldn't hide a grin. Dammit, he was jealous as hell that Jackson got to play out even half of Jason's fantasy with this incredible woman Jason couldn't get out of his mind. Jason's dick was pouting because Jackson got the first blow job, and yet Jason felt this insane urge to laugh.
Angelina glared at him through long lashes. "Wipe that smirk off your face, buddy. You are so not in a position to be smiling about anything right now, funny man."
Yet, was that a faint twitch Jason saw tug at the corner of her lips? He looked closer. Yes. Yes, she was definitely holding back a grin of her own. He looked at Jackson and, well what do you know, he was so obviously biting back a smile too. Was it possible the three of them could turn this into something to laugh about?
"Oh my God," Angelina groaned and covered her face with her hands.
Jason's heart leapt to his throat. Oh no, please don't let her start to cry. Let her scream, rage at him and Jackson, throw a few punches even, anything but cry. Jason couldn't stand to see a woman cry.
"I'm so embarrassed," she said into her hands.
He could see that much was true. Her skin was turning a pretty remarkable shade of red. And not just her face, or what he could see of her face around her hands. No. This blush began at the roots of her hair and quickly washed over her all the way to her ankles. He bet if he could see her toes inside those glossy black heels he would find them blushing too.
"I'm sorry," Jackson said, his voice soft as he knelt beside her. "I shouldn't have let it go this far."
She sighed, dropped her hands, and looked at him. No. She hadn't been crying, wasn't even about to. Her eyes were dry even if they did seem darkened by a cloud of self-recrimination. "You tried to tell me. I'm the one who wouldn't listen."
"I should have made you listen." He reached out, tentatively at first as though he expected her to slap at his hand, but when she didn't, he laid that hand gently on her bare shoulder. "I really am sorry."
And this was why Jackson was the twin that the women always went for? Jackson knew how to talk to a woman, knew how to show emotions that were so often too lost inside Jason to make a surface appearance. Jealousy curled in his gut, a familiar feeling he'd known most of his life. Jealousy because Jackson could show so easily things that he could not, and Jackson never felt embarrassed, or ashamed, or wrong about his emotions.
Still, it was a form of jealousy he could deal with. He'd lived with it for this long after all. This jealousy wasn't some new feeling, some new form that developed from watching Jackson with Angelina. No. As long as he got to join in next time, he would be satisfied. Wouldn't he? His relationship with Angelina was sexual. Wasn't it?
Just like that, Jason knew what to do. Provided, of course, that Angelina liked this sex game stuff as much as he thought. He pushed himself off the door frame, walked to her side opposite Jackson, and knelt. He didn't touch her, not yet. Instead, he rested one hand on his thigh and balled the other into a fist, placing it on the floor for balance.
"I'm responsible for at least half of what happened here," he told Angelina. She slowly turned her head to look at him, her eyes curious. "I told you I have a brother. What I didn't tell you is that he's my identical twin."

That would have been a piece of useful information earlier, Angelina thought as she studied Jason. God, she couldn't believe this, couldn't believe the things she'd done to the wrong twin, the things she'd been about to do. She should be angry, furious as hell at both of them. Yet, as she watched the mischief move behind Jason's gray eyes, thought of the look that was both apology and desire she'd seen in Jackson's equally gray eyes, what she felt was inspired.
How many women could claim possession of two incredibly sexy men like Jason and Jackson even if for a short time? She'd begun her little fling, as it were, with Jason for fun, used it as an escape from the horrors happening in her life. Why couldn't she continue that fun now with both twins? She'd always fantasized about being with two men at once. What woman didn't? So why not turn this fiasco into a fantasy fulfillment of her own?
"I should be pissed at you," she said, but she knew the smile on her lips told a different story.

GRACIE: I’m excited to have you here at The G-Spot, Tonya! Please tell us a little about yourself and how and when you got into writing?

TONYA: Hi Gracie! Thanks for having me.

I've been writing for what feels like my whole life. I remember writing a scene for a class play in fourth grade though I can't remember exactly what it was about. Something dealing with potatoes. LOL If memory serves, it was for social studies class. I wrote my first book in middle school while sitting around my father's service station after school. It was never published of course but I still have it. I drag it out every now and then for a good laugh and a reminder at how far I've come in skill and talent. Between then and now, I've stepped away for a few months, even a few years at some point but I've always been drawn back to writing. It's a part of me and the need to write, to create is something I simply can't ignore.

GRACIE: Is there any one thing or person in your life that inspired your writing? Any one thing or person that influenced the genre you write in?

TONYA: My first inspiration was Francine Pascal, the creator of the Sweet Valley High series. The Wakefield twins were some pretty exciting role models growing up:) My step-mother was also a huge inspiration. When she realized I was serious about making a career out of writing back in middle school, she found a correspondence course through the Institute of Children's Literature for me and essentially opened the doors for me to the knowledge of the publishing world.


GRACIE: What do you know now about writing and the publishing industry that you wish you’d known before you started?

TONYA: Promotion, promotion, promotion! Maybe I was naive or just plain clueless but I truly believed all I had to do was write. Wrong! There is another completely different side to a writing career that has nothing to do with story telling and everything to do with business. That's a side I've had to learn and am still learning daily.


GRACIE: LOL, I know what you mean, Tonya. Now, why don’t you share some of your current titles with us and give us a little story behind the story for each?

TONYA: My latest release at Siren Publishing is Twin Games. This is book 2 of my Heroes of Silver Springs series. In this story, Angelina Keaton inherits a private airport, but the last thing she expects is to become caught between sexy twins, Firefighter Jason Graham and FBI Agent Jackson Graham. It's a contemporary menage a trois. Very sexy:)

I'm having a great deal of fun writing this series. Caught off Guard came first and tells the story of Fire Department Captain Dean Wolcott and Veronica Abbott. Stormy Nights, book 3 will be next and includes returning characters Firefighter and former Navy SEAL Ryan Magee and Tina Walker. Ever since my Sweet Valley days I've wanted to write an open-ended series and I believe The Heroes of Silver Springs is it. There are so many things I can do with these courageous characters and they never cease to surprise me with their adventures.

GRACIE: Sounds very sexy and exciting! And I’m a real fan of strong men in uniform as I’m sure are most of your fans . Of all the stories you’ve written, which is your favorite and why?

TONYA: Okay, I simply have to give the cheesy answer here. They are all my favorite! Each story for me is different. Each cast of characters, even if they are returning characters, offers a new stage of fun and exploration.

GRACIE: Which of your characters is your favorite and why?

TONYA: Again, I have to say all of them. From my firefighters, EMTs, FBI, DEA, and local police in The Heroes of Silver Springs to the super sexy vampire Damian in Convince Me to my fantasy heroes in my contemporary fantasies, Kinsey and the Exotic Dancing Princess and Love Me Times 3 (watch for that one coming soon at Siren), they are all unique to me and have a way of crawling into my heart and making me love them:)

GRACIE: What about your characters makes them unique and why?

TONYA: I think my characters are unique because they are down to earth, real, easy to relate to even when they are thrown into situations people don't often face.

GRACIE: What is your favorite aspect of the writing process? Your least favorite?

TONYA: My least favorite is writing the blurb. I can more easily write a full length novel than I can that pesky 50 or 150 word blurb! As for my favorite aspect, everything else from the creation of the characters, their world, and the obstacles they will face all the way down to the final word.

GRACIE: Are you a pantser or do you outline?

TONYA: It depends on the story. Actually, I'm a bit backwards. I tend to work off of outlines for any story that I plan to be less than 40k. For my longer novels, I tend to be a pantser. I suppose I have to have that outline for the shorter stories so that I can insure it remains short as planned.

GRACIE: If you weren’t a writer, what other profession would you have chosen to pursue?

TONYA: I've had 2 main career dreams in my life. Writing was one and something dealing in criminal law or investigations was the other. I've always been fascinated with criminal law. Lucky for me, I can incorporate that fascination into my writing and have them both:)

GRACIE: Who are some of your favorite authors and why? Name some of your favorite books. What are some of your favorite genres and why?

TONYA: Suzanne Brockmann, Christina Skye, Marliss Melton and Lora Leigh for their fabulous Navy SEAL series. Laurell K. Hamilton does a wonderful job with vampires, were-animals and every other creature she can think up. I also love Nora Roberts, Lara Santiago, Gracie C. McKeever :) and Cheyenne McCray to name a few more. Some of my favorite books include all of Brockmann's Troubleshooter series, Nora Robert's Key, 3 Sisters, In the Garden, and Vampire trilogies. Contemporary is my top favorite genre but I also love paranormal, fantasy, mystery, and just about anything else I can get my hands on:)

GRACIE: You’ve named some fantastic authors, Tonya and I’m honored to be listed among them . What are you working on now? What should readers be looking forward to from you in the future?

TONYA: Hmm, well, right now I'm outlining a new contemporary fantasy trilogy but it's so new I can't really tell you much about it yet. I've tentatively picked out the titles Desired Hearts, Dreamed Hearts, and Bound Hearts. Watch for more on those to come.

Next up will be Stormy Nights, Book 3 of The Heroes of Silver Springs: When a hurricane hits Silver Springs, firefighter Ryan Magee finds himself stranded with single mother Tina Walker to ride out the storm. The last thing this ex-Navy SEAL playboy wants is to get involved with a ready-made family. But will one night with Tina be enough to change his mind?
