Greetings, Fans of Me:

These past few weeks have been a side-step away from reality for me. I continue to be inundated with requests to do radio interviews. Pathetically, I have given more free books to DJ's than I have sold any. Is this worth it? You bet!

Here's what I've learned:

1.) DJ's are generally open-minded to alien abductions being real and their call-in listeners are nothing but supportive--except in the event that they are nuts. Then they are nuts and supportive.

2.) Lesson one does not apply to sports DJ's named "Meat" or hissy queens who just wanna talk about anal probes.

3.) Back in college, I was hypnotized by a therapist who specializes in alien abductions. I felt like I was under for about ten minutes and that I was forcing answers that were not real. In fact, I was on the hypnotist's couch for hours and whatever I said in that time, she offered me free therapy. I had to go back to college and I didn't trust what I said under hypnosis, so I never saw her again.

I did an interview a week ago with a host who asked me, "So what did you say under hypnosis?" And you know what?--it never occurred to me once in the decade that followed to find out. She never told me; I never asked. I don't know if there's a transcript or an audio tape of our session. Is that strange or what? So now I've got to track her down. I smell a sequel....

4.) In the book I describe a UFO encounter that took place on the way to my grandparents in Vermont. The unique thing about it is it wasn't just some light in the sky; it was very much an extraordinary craft. In my first interview I learned from one of the hosts that Vermont was a UFO hotspot in the early to mid eighties--the period in which I saw this thing. On another show from Colchester, Vermont a man called in claiming to have seen a similar (or maybe the same) object at around the time of my sighting. I kept waiting for the punch line but it never came. He said he would describe it as round, not oval as I had, and that it zipped quickly over the tree tops and over his home. It was fluorescent, self-luminous green, just like what I saw. This color baffled him because it was so bold and obvious--by no means camouflaged--that everyone should be seeing these things all the time.

Agreed. That's what makes the strange so damn strange.

I have another Vermont interview on a different station, July 2nd. The host told me that she personally has had a few UFO sightings in her area. I hope they are of the green, roundish variety. This would be more indirect evidence that something is going on and it ain't in my head or a pack o' lies.

In the meantime, I am now a columnist for UFO MAGAZINE. Apparently I have duped them into believing the world is ready for my special brand of ufo insights. (Their words not mine). This came about because I sent them a copy of my book for review. They still haven't gotten around to reading it but they checked out my valiens website and were impressed. So, go that!

And finally, another dream come true--I have appeared on Whitley Strieber's unknowncountry.com. He asked for reader feedback on the disaster flick "The Day After Tomorrow," which is based on a book written by Art Bell and him. I thought the movie was so-so and wrote a lengthy review. A piece of it can be found at the link below. It's under my first name at the bottom of the page and is the only negative comment on there.

So, okay: maybe not a dream come true.
