I've been away from Author's Den for quite some time - my computer's modem has gone out and I've never replaced it. Blah
Anyway, news from the carnival poet - I traveled with the carnival again the spring/summer of 2006 full time while also keeping a full time, regular job. It was rough. However, it inspired some great rhymes - as only that life can. My poem "The Text Message" was inspired by my many tired drives home after closing with the carnival and my boyfriend would keep me awake by calling me or sending me a text message. It's amazing how you can be wide awake one mile and the next...eye lids just too heavy for your head. Working those two jobs every day wore on me - but had to make money to afford mortgage and utilities - forget luxuries such as food.

It is a journal that I would write in at the end of each week after I had left the carnival would leave each town.

I'm also participating in NaNoWriMo. Check out www.nanowrimo.org - it is national novel writing month. The goal is to write a 50,000 word novel in one month. This year, I'm going to make that whole novel rhyme...I've only hit nearly 30,000 words in my attempt at NaNoWriMo 2004.
