Hank's Ramblings -- July 2008

I'm sorry about the delay in my July 2008 newsletter but I got lost in the process of trying to find it. After one reaches the modest age of one hundred and two, It is quite difficult to locate one's toothbrush hanging up in the bathroom. However, I try and I try and I try. Finally I succeed -- usually.

Am I realy one hundred and two? Nope. However it doesn't hurt to pretend. That way, my friends usually forgive me for being absent minded -- and forgetting how to add a page to my Newsletter.

Besides, I'm a little tied up trying to get out my fourth book. This one is about my life as a weatherman during World War Two. Yep. I'm not pulling your let. I was one of those Weather Officers assigned to protect the Panama Canal using radar as one of my tools. Yep. They did have radar back then.

While I was at Tallahassee, Florida, one of the weather officers in the Fourth Weather Squadron mentioned radar. Within a week, he was whisked off to parts unknown where he could work on the radar project -- in private. Prior to that, I didn't even know how to spell radar. By the time I reached Albrook Field in Panama a few years later, our base had an operational model and we were able to use it on vital projects such as telling the base commander whether or not it might rain on his parade.

That's all for this month. With luck, I'll remember how to get out one of these newsletters long enough to come up with my Augustr Edition.
