Writing a newsletter must be a little like having a child. Both processes involve lot's of pain. Both can often end up with beautiful creations.

My latest work is "Memoirs of a WW II Weatherman." It covers many of my adventures as a draftee who entered the military before World War II and became assigned to that cannon fodder organization called the Combat Engineers. I eventually became am engineer all right but that didn't happen until decades after the war.

Some gung ho people really don't consider Quality Engineers to be true engineers. Maybe they are and maybe they aren't but I still have a certificate that classifies me in that category and I can legally write CE after my name.

Of course, I got to be a Quality Engineer via the grandfather clause but I did earn my Engineer-in- Training certificate the hard way.

C'est la vie. If there's an easy way to get things done, I'll find it -- eventually.
