Ah, a few more summer days remain. Although Fall is a beautiful time of year, it is not my preferred because it signals the end of summer, my favorite season.

PUBLISHED BOOK CHAPTER WITH SAGE PUBLISHING

The SAGE Reference team has announced the publication of Gender and Women's Leadership edited by Karen O'Connor. My contribution to this work is the chapter, “Women Political Leaders in Africa.” Please encourage your Reference Librarian to purchase a copy, available both in print and on - line formats. This work consists of two volumes and the hardcopy prepublication price is $290. Later, the price will be $325.

WOMEN IN COMBAT WITH ABC - CLIO PRODUCTION SCHEDULE TO BEGIN

PreMediaGlobal/ABC - CLIO has sent the production schedule for my Women in Combat book. The edited manuscript will be sent to me on September 22 and I am to return it October 3. This is step one; there are ten steps in all concluding with the book going to the printer on December 16. So things are moving right along.

MULTICULTURAL COALITION ANNUAL CONFERENCE, OCTOBER

If you live in or near Grand Island, Nebraska, don’t forget you are invited to attend the Multicultural Coalition’s annual one day Conference, October 21st, 2010. The keynote presentation will be on my book about the Cuban family titled, The Cuban Family: Custom and Change in an Era of Hardship.

I will also present at two breakout sessions. The first session will be on my book, The Women of Afghanistan under the Taliban, and the second session will be on my second Afghan book, Women of Afghanistan in the Post - Taliban Era.
