Tangled in a web
of perplexity
Powerless to distinguish
right from wrong
Pursuing peace amidst
mass frustration.

Yearning to undrape the
secret of man complete
Struggling for success,
scorning the taste of defeat
Rationalizing grounds for
this pain and implicit unrest
Securing a fitting refuge
from this insane chaos.

A lightyear from our intentions,
we seldom find ourselves
A million miles from pleasant
dreams of expected happiness
Inside this sphere of wonder
and certain bewilderment
Disappointment comes easy
for those who concede

Picturing, anticipating,
success and prosperity .
For who would envision
a life of pain and distress?
Building ourselves up,
to abruptly tumble down.
For dreams are denied in
this idealistic existence?
Greeting each morn,
sensing failure and defeat
Was that the plan for
a man of ambition ?
Survival, breathing, living,
the goals for today
Forget those illusions which
may leave you happy.

I dismiss this idea for

Surrendering, giving in,
not allowed in this game
Fight, persevere,
move forward and be proud.

Cherish those trials,
