LOVE IS . . . Taking the blame for another’s shame, Offering your life as a willing sacrifice. Bearing the pain for another’s gain, Loving on when its romance is gone, Embracing the cross of another’s loss, Staying true when no others do, Saying “I love you” without needing a reason to. There is always a risk in loving. I don't see regret in your poem; I see the joy of giving one's self for the one you love, no matter what.

�Never having to say you're sorry.� There is something in your poem that is tinged with regret. I much prefer love to be uplifting and not an obligation.
