My bed was cold
'cause he wasn't there.
He'd left earth long before.
I loved him dearly
yet struggled not to pine away
while aching memories filled my mind
with thoughts of yesterday.

I forged ahead.
Years were full and happy
many quests of life achieved.
My waking hours
filled with treasures, gold.
I kept busy!
Yet at night, my bed was cold.

Until....

Half of the weight of this poem is carried by this 'until'. It is HOPE, i guess.

Truly great work Gwen. In fear of sounding like an old record, I too was drawn into the, until... I find that very effective. Well done! Lisa

I like the setting. I agree with Debashish...
Especially leaving "untill..." unfinished is nice business.
