(of note, all bold print represents the voice of the Holy Spirit)
Where are you, God, when I'm going through
The bigger question is when you're going through, where are you
Are you on your knees; are you fasting and praying
Are you in the word, seeking and obeying
I'm not always on me knees, and I don't always fast, but I do pray
I may be slightly disobedient, but I do read the word; just not every day
Walking in obedience and following my instruction is a very huge part
Then, there is also the issue of the condition of your heart
What's in your heart, your mouth will speak
And I have to be honest, Beloved, with what I'm hearing, I have not been pleased
You want guidance and you seek direction, but yet you doubt
You straddle the fence, halfway in and halfway out
Lord, my God, I'm trying my best to serve you
But there are so many days that I don't know what to do
You are not giving me the best of you; you're double-minded
You're easily discouraged, walk in offense and not love, prideful and most often defiant
You walk in the way of the world and not in the spirit
But it is there for you; you just have to call upon it
You have to rebuke the devil and all his evil ways
You have to dwell in me and let me have my way
Remember, my will be done, not your own
Yet you continue to walk in your own way because you fear the unknown
Humble yourself, surrender your will to me
I will give you the peace that you so desperately seek
Thank you, Lord. I surrender myself to you
Your will be done in my life; show me what it is that you want me to do
