Arrows!!!!!

by Margaret Mullings — Read all 398 poems by Margaret Mullings

As a little girl I recall my grandmother always echoing " if you don't have anything good to say, don't say anything at all. " Words so true and yet very profound, for I have found that word are like arrows to the soul. Yes words hurt and can cause harm to others or bring joy! Let us all speak words that bring hope and comfort to others, and soothe and heal the wounds that arrows bring, even intercepting those deadly arrows! May these words challenge you as it did me not to throw arrows!! Be encouraged as you read!! Knowing no that no arrows thrown at you can enter, under God's protective care!!!

Words so creul

and filled with fuel

at me are hurled!

In the word I meditate

chew and regurgitate

the word.

Words like arrows

cannot find my marrow!

Arrows so sharp

find me on my harp

praising the Lord!

They cannot touch me

sheltered I am under

His wings of protection

I will stay abiding in His word

and covered in prayer!

Knowing that no arrows

can penetrate God's

protective covering! arrows

cannot enter!!!

Psalm 91

BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN THE OBJECT OF CRUEL WORDS FOR SO LONG...I LOOK AT IT THIS WAY...GOD ALLOWS THOSE 'ARROWS' TO TEMPER OUR HEARTS...WE GROW CLOSER TO HIM AND...WE HAVE SOMEONE ELSE TO PRAY FOR. WELL WRITTEN. BLESSINGS AND THANKS FOR SHARING. JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS
