Take Off

by Margaret Mullings — Read all 398 poems by Margaret Mullings

Authors and Readers I had an African Grey Parrot for many years, and one Sunday morning as my oldest daughter was leaving through the door, I heard wings flapping saw a red tail and thought isnt that a pretty bird before I realized it was Jay my African Grey. I was stunned he was air borne I screamed for him to come back, he paused for a moment then he began to soar. I was so sad yet I realized as I watched the take off, that he was free and with that thought I found comfort. May the Lord help us all to take off everything that weights us down, be blessed as you read!

Take off the garment stained

with malice and with hatred

take off the gulit and condemnation,

with bitterness and unforgiveness.

Take off the shackles that binds

your heart to sin, run to the Saviour

Jesus Christ whose blood has made

it possible for you to take off every

stain of sin!

You are free to take off and to soar

to your destiny!

Take off today!
