You held me in your warm embrace

And your comforting voice said

" My baby my little girl"

Yet you left me all alone and no one

Could tell me where you went.

So many years have passed still

My heart loves you and longs for you

To hold me again.

I maybe foolish to hope that one day

You will come back to me!

Then it happened after what seemed

Like a life time.........Daddy you returned

Embraced me  for the first time and said

Those magical words..." My baby my little girl "

Of course daddy I am all grown up now

And understand the importance of a father's love.

Yes daddy even after all that has happened

I still love and appreciate your love.......

I guess I will always be daddy's little girl,

For I have gotten over the hurt and the pain

And have forgiven you I love you daddy.
