This Winter

by Margaret Mullings — Read all 398 poems by Margaret Mullings

Where I live we really do not have winters, but this past year it sure felt like winter! causing me to appreciate winter. Be blessed as you read!

Sunday, January 31, 2010

This winter has been very unusual

But I am sure enjoying it for I know

Summer is fast approaching and as I

Get older I cannot seem to bear the heat!

What a blessing this winter has been to me

And guess what experiencing hot summers

Has really caused me to appreciate this

Winter!

WINTER IS BEAUTIFUL...IT PURGES AND PERFECTS...WIPES OUT GERMS AND BACTERIA...IT CLEANSES AND MAKES THE EARTH READY FOR SOMETHING...NEW.
WINTER...FOR THOSE OF US WHO ARE 'PREPARED' FOR IT...IT IS A GOOD TIME! I LOVE THIS...THANKS FOR SHARING AND BLESSINGS. LOVE,

I'm embarrassed to comment that we've had several inches of rain here in San Diego since last July. And now this February 10th weekend, the forecast is for sunny skies and 75 degrees. However, sixty miles away in the Laguna Mountains, it snowed several inches last week. Whenever I get the irrepressible urge to snowboard or engage in a snowball fight, I go up to the mountains for the afternoon. (The last urge was along about 1995, I think.)

"This Winter" teaches us that no matter what our situation in life--good or bad--it will change. "Enjoy your day" was never more apt than here.

Well written Margaret, but if you where over here in freezing Belfast right now you wouldn't be surprised to see a few penguins and an Eskimo outside the door, brrrrrrrrr.

Works both ways I guess. Been so cold here this year I'm seriously considering moving to the deep south. Getting too old for the cold. Well done.
