A Parent’s Epistle
To you, my child, my gift from God,
I write of growth, of branch and vine.
Before you leave on roads un-trod
you’ll need His love, a light to shine.
My daughter, yes – but also His,
who nurtures what a Christian is.
You are the branch; He is the vine.
Through Him you bear unblemished fruit.
The glory His, the blessing thine –
a product of the branch’s root.
He prunes His own; He gives the Son
to speed your growth – His will be done.
