Freely released From the sheltering pod, Opened toward the sun, My children wafted away Like milkweed parachutes on an autumn breeze, Bearing seeds of their own to sow and nurture In another part of the good green earth, Where dreams grow on stout stalks Firmly rooted in the same ancestral soil That nourishes me now With the comforting truth That all is well.
