Unafraid of the dark,
In love with the dark,
Seeing stars in the dark.
"Don't curse the darkness" are words of wisdom;
But to suggest that we "light a candle" to extinguish the darkness is ludicrous.
We were conceived in the dark bellies of our mothers where most of us sojourned for nine months without the light of day;
It is in the dark seat of our souls where our shadowy self resides, our secrets are harbored and the eros finds a refuge;
It is in the dark when nightly a voice is heard saying, "Go to sleep my
child; tonight your Heavenly Father holds you in his bosom."
It is in the dark when I look up and see the stars.
And, the darker the night, the brighter the stars.
Unlike some of God's children, but like many of them, my complextion is dark, on the outside; and like all of them, we are dark on the inside.
Could it be that we are more shadowy than light?
Dare anyone suggest that we light a candle to extinguish the dark.
We embrace and are embraced by the dark;
We enjoy the starlight that illuminates the dark that no light, be it ever so bright, has ever been bright enough to make the stars visible.
