"What's happening?" My friend asked me as he had done many times before. This was his inquiring, but affectionate, greeting. He asked me "What's happening"? gleefully and with the expectation that I would share with him some good news.
On this particular day I responded to his question with this question: "Will you say, 'Ain't that good news!' after each piece of good news I tell you?" Readily and with delight he agreed to honor my request. (To my readers I ask you to do the same. In the place where my friend responded, will you make the same response, not for him but for yourself?)

The Good News Litany.

We are alive, feeling good, looking fine, and enjoying life;
*Ain't that good news!
This is a beautiful day, the birds are singing, sweet aromas fill the air, a gentle breeze soothes my body and buoys my spirit up.
*Ain't that good news!
The presence of God in me blesses the presence of God in you and the presence of God in you blesses the presence of God in me;
*Ain't that good news!
I just know that there is not anything that is going to happen to me today that God and I together cannot handle;
*Ain't that good news!
I love you and feel that you love me, it's good for us to be able to share, your presence will remain with me even when I cannot see your face;
*Ain't that good news!
