What are we to make of America, purportedly to be the super power of the world and a Christian nation who is also the number one jailer of the world with a growing homeless population and many more living in poverty without access to medical care...while the rich gets richer?

Listen to the song of twenty-first century America and you will hear, "America is the super power of the world, America is the greatest nation on earth, America is a Christian nation, and everyone wants to come to America."

We pray asking God to bless America, not to bless the world, And we are told that it is patriotic for us to believe that America has the right and duty to spread wide her hegemonic wings so they can hover over all the people throughout the whole world.

We sing America the beautiful and God is on our side without considering whether or not we are on God's side; and we are the number one jailer in the world and there are homeless, sick but untreated and uneducated people in America.

Rise up Americans and let us sing a song of freedom and peace; And let us sing like we never sung before with resolve and love. May all people join with us and sing for freedom and peace. Come on, rise up Americans and let us sing a song of freedom and peace.
