Barack Obama received 365 electoral votes to 173 for John McCain. He needed only 270 to win the presidency. In his plea for unity during his twenty-plus months of campaigning for the presidency Obama frequently said: "We are not a blue America or red America, a black America, white America, Hispanic America, Asian America or Native America. This is the United States of America!"
In the spirit and hopefullly as a practice of Obama's plea for unity, I call upon all Americans to join with me in singing "Join Hands and Feel the Power," a song I have composed that emphasizes unity, power and celebration. Let the music that we make together be heard resounding throughout America and the world.
