"What would Jesus do?" is a question frequently asked by people who want to know what to do or not do about a specific situation. Their intent may be good. They may want to act accordingly.

Are you listening? Jesus has already answered this question definitively and with finality. His answer, "Love God and love one another." He has demonstrated that love is applicable to every situation, and when applied it produces the greatest good, regardless to the situation. "God so loved the world" that people would have undeniable evidence of love in action, that is not influenced by merit or demerit, does not require reciprocity, but is a gift of grace alone. Jesus said "I have come that men may have life, and have it in all its fullness." A fulfilled life is complete in every way, including the knowledge and power to know what to do or not to do when facing an encounter.

Through the love of God people are empowered to accomplish the good that is best for them. His presence, an inner guide, in the person of the Holy Spirit, reveals to a person what he is to do or not to do at any time and at all times. However, like the model prayer of Jesus which says "Give us this day, our daily bread," the guidance provided may be for a daily or specific situation. A person's inner voice constantly says to him, "You will know when it is the right time to know what response or lack of response to make to a specific situation."

What Jesus cannot do is choose how a person will respond to the inner voice that he may or may not hear because of his soul issues. Each aware person continually accepts or rejects what the Spirit reveals to him. Simply put, the choice is to accept or reject love, one's First Love.

What is love? Love manifested or expressed is the good we do now until we can do better now with faith that the best is yet to be now. It is a now thing. Love when well served is always good and right in every situation.

What would Jesus do? He has already done it. It is now done. His presence and power can be accessed personally in honoring the free-choice principle and applied effectively and lovingly to accomplish the greatest good.
