O how often do I say to myself "I have
a lot to be thankful for!" Perhaps, you
feel this way. This Thanksgiving Prayer
is for me and you and all who desire to
acknowledge the goodness of God.
Thank you God for being first, the First Cause, Creator of everything, Being and Nothingness, the Totality of All Good;
Thank you for nature, its abundance, varied offerings magnificence, splendor and beauty,
Thank you God for your presence, your omnipresence, from which no one or no thing can ever escape.
Thank you God for provisions, even for the sparrow; and oh how much more do you care for humans, made in your image, than for fowls.
Thank you God for protection, safety which without nothing else matters enough.
Thank you God for health and a consciousness to realize that health is more important than wealth.
Thank you God for opportunity, to glorify You, to express uiqueness, to worship, serve and grow;
Thank you God for faith to trust you, hope to overcome mammouth challenges and love to live powerfully and potentially;
Thank you God for pain and suffering that make me aware of what I need to know in order to rise and receive healing;
Thank you God for revelatioin, messages received directly from You that no other source can provide;
Thank you God for joy, the most desired felicity of humans that neither the lack of happiness or pleasure can undecut.
Thank you God for peace that surpasses all understanding and affords humans with deligtfulness and serenity.
Thank you God for mystery that enables humans to have meaningful experiences without having to understand or ponder needlessly.
Thank you God for the heritage and legacy bequeathed to every generation by humankind and their ancestors in particular.
Thank you God for death that affords humans the chance to exchange mortality for immortality and commence a better life.
Thank you God for Eternity, something that many experience briefly from time to time but will expereince in your heavenly presence forever.
Thank you God for music, the opportunity for every person to sing his own song even as I now offer this song to you: Thank you God for your presence and
your love;
Your presence and love leave nothing lacking that I need or desire;
Your presence and love offer completeness,
fulfillment and beauty;
Thank you God for your presence and
your love.
And so it is.
