Written in 1992, during a time of great dilemma.
In the end I did.

*******************************

Should I?

A gentle breathe upon the breeze
Caressed my cheek with great delight.
Gentle fingers touched my heart,
Within my breast a flame burns bright.

A glowing angel passed my vision.
Perfume sent my senses reeling
Arms outstretched on loves sweet mission
A soul reached out, beckoned, calling.

Something strange had touched my being,
Made my spirit dance and laugh.
Chains are loosed my heart is flying
Upon the wind, a sturdy craft.

My cup is filled to overflowing,
My soul is tuned as to a lute.
My love, like seed is for the sowing.
Dare I pick forbidden fruit?

Dare I take a bold step forward,
Dare I offer my all again
Send my soul forever skyward,
Risk my all to suffer pain.

I am helpless, trapped, ensnared.
In need of someone to point the way,
Love is empty, unless tis shared.
Wrongly placed, a price to pay.

Kept to oneself tis joy and pain,
Would that I, could take her hand,
I dare not say it once again,
I love you! I fear to take the stand.
