A Caged Bird

I know you tried to set me free, when you thought it was right for me, but maybe it's not good for me: a caged bird lives in harmony. A caged bird lives- though captively- without a fear- though certainly- It's freedom wasn't there to see, but it lives in security. A caged bird shouldn't be let go, for fear that it will soon be shown the things it never knew to know- a caged bird thrives on love alone.

This poem is thought provoking.
All of my life I have believed that all things would be better off if they were free,now I read your poem,and I wonder.

Well I got the point of this one. My little bird is perfectly content within his home. I have had him now for eight years. He is a intelligent bird. And I suppose he knows that he is loved because of the songs he sings.
