Never, Forever and Always

Where did the dreaming end?
Where did the dancing stop?
It's amazing how fast you fall,
when you're falling from the top.

And when I needed to know,
where was reality?
When I was scared and lost,
and I just wanted to see.

And now that I had made my way,
and left behind me all my past,
now I thought that I had won,
and it turns out that I came last.

I never saw you coming,
and I never saw you leave,
and I never thought for just one second
you'd be after me.
I never saw the shadows
and I never felt the pain,
until the damage broke my heart,
and knocked me down again.

Never, forever and always I am,
the one who was lagging behind.
Never, forever and always the fool,
in my own stupid daydreams entwined.

One day you'll write a good, .. no great, famous book and I'll go, 'I sort of knew her!' ;)

Very beautifully expressed and constructed. I felt your angst and your celebration of pain and which will evolve within you and make you a better person!
Enjoy life while you can
Now and forever
cheers
Alain
