Through generations, the story’s been told ‘bout a soul roaming in a moonless night; versions vary ‘bout how it did unfold, but tell they still hear her sorrowful plight. They say she ended her own life to spite the lover who coldly betrayed her trust and hang to her death in a moonless night, wind’s howling and stirring dry leaves and dust. Her spirit abounding moans as it must; folks say she haunts the woods where she perished they say you can feel a whoosh like a gust of wind, calling the one she once cherished.
They say on nights when the sky’s black as coal some claim to have seen her wandering soul.
Spooky enough for me, Carmen. Great picture too. One thing I've determined to never do and that is kill myself to spite a man. He won't give a damn. Now, if I knew for a fact I'd be allowed to haunt him, then maybe.... Muwhooohahahahahaha! ROFL. ~~~Nordette
Another flawless sonnet, Carmen. Love the turn with the last two lines. Words, script and particularly the visual make this a complete and classic package. Very well done. And haunting! LOL Kate xx
WEIRD RHODY is a short story collection featuring five strange tales all set in Rhode Island and written by five Rhode Island authors. The anthology is a tribute to H.P. Lovecraft, the Ocean State's famed author of pulp horror.
In the end they'll all be dancin'--all them ones that didn't die.... Dance with me in the shadows amidst the lightning and the thunder, and all that nu-cu-lar debris. See the big bang from the other side, and then open that cellar door. Go down into
the ground in panic. Excellent!! Happy Halloween, Pea Hooluvzyoo
