daybreak debris clutter
my morning mind.
the leavings of time's relentless passage,
yesterday's regrets and sorrows,
and its tasks and chores
unfinished and undone
mire me
in the sodden ground of memory.
soon enough the false dawn,
chased by the rampant rising sun,
will disperse.
then
i will be free
to start the new day
and
really screw things up...
EXCEEEEEEELLLLEEEEENT!!! This is MY kind of humour here, John! I laughed out loud at this one, my friend! A truism if ever there was one - but so acutely and cleverly penned... I am saving it! No wait - I think you need to have this put onto a frig magnet and marketed pdq so that we can be reminded of it daily as we reach for the morning milk!! Good to come across a similar self-satirist like me. Luvin ya work, thankyou. Kate xx

Quite a twist on the end John. I think the same way ... new day so beautiful begins and somehow I will mess it up. Enjoyed your poem. Bill Murray
