Few rivers flow unvexed to the sea these days, some like the Colorado, do not make it to the sea at all.

taking- the foundation of the empire

but to itself the this river Is.
water flowing down, flowing down,
flowing always flowing down:
flowing water in its riverness
flowing water in its reverence
flowing down to the sea
so creative and insightful
