a.k.a. Pope John Paul II-- there are many allussions to churchy things if you get them, blessed are you if you do not, blessed are you
the ring is smashed the throne vacant in peace has the servant departed an unbelieving world tries in its own terms to comprehend but cannot the believing world mouths platitudes that vaguely hint at profound truth, as the night hints vaguely at the day believer and un believer alike have not the words to comprehend, falling silent before the great mystery the bridge builder has crossed the river th vicar has gone over to give account to his lord --- + --- Lord, you have allowed your servant to depart in peace. alleluia Let light perpetual shine upon him alleluia May he dwell in you house forever alleluia The Lord has received his own alleluia Blessed be the name of th Lord! Alleluia --- + --- mortal am I child of the dust, dust of the earth and to dust must I return but from the grave I sing alleluia, alleluia, alleluia --- + --- the ring is smashed the throne is vacant in peace has the servant departed

..and as he takes that final journey across the bridge that he has built, leading to his Father's Home and his long awaited destiny, he pauses, turns and says a prayer for all those whom he leaves behind. Go in peace John Paul, II. You have earned your time of rest. This is a wonderful tribute, John, though I am not Catholic, I have admired much about this amazing man.

"the bridge builder has crossed the river" is a great line. Karol, I didn't know his birth name, built many, many bridges here before the bridge that takes him there. Henry

*Tears* This is so beautifully moving--he was my brother, too. :( I don't practice Catholocism any more, but Pope John Paul II has always had a special place in my heart. I respected and admired him very much. He shall be missed--
