It'a very hard to cover such a complex subject in this poetry forum. I give you credit for trying...I was in a non-denominational group for a year discussing problems with what church has become. There were jews,catholics,baptists methodists,nazarenes assembly,apostolic,
lutheran,and a few others. I conluded that church had become a social affair more than a place of learning and worship. Too many outside activities to discuss, pot lucks,ice cream socials fund raisers, retreats,sports activities etc,just to mention a few. I think God gets left out too much in this present era of church goers. Thanks for sharing John!
I think that those who know her and have loved her, have left her still loving her as a bad parent. But this is an individual matter, between God and ourselves. I am respectful of the devout, but I go my own way having been "rejected" by my "Mother"...
You are right and I have had one say that he was rewriting the Bible and put all these things into it that really aren't true. He said the 95% percent that read it have never read the Bible and approved of what he is attempting to do. Yes this is a distorted view of the church and you have put this to paper very well.
I do go to church and respect it.

Reaching out to the less fortunate and poor does not bring income, so it is difficult to do what we feel is right and afford to keep much outreach going.
Since we don't traffic in fear money or hush money it is more difficult.
Makes life interesting.
