the first three stanzas appeared as the work in progress "confessions" for my fellow wounded
I am a wounded man wounded by life in time, the worlds malice and my own waywardness. I am a wounded man living among wounded who hide their wounds from others, and themselves I am a wounded man lashing out in my pain wounding others, being wounded in return. . . Comes one wounded whose stripes unmerited were chosen not earned freely chosen and so displayed �Cone, my wounded friends,� he calls, �Stand together in your woundedness. Stand in the power of your weakness; Love in the name of the broken heart.� Some will neither heed nor hear him. Some lash out to harm him again. Some, denying his wounds, proclaim him GOD most perfect. Still he speaks to wounded hearts, In spite of envy, calumny, and greed. Over the noise of our rejection he calls us, �Come, stand with me.� Thus he calls us, you and I: So how will you respond? And I, shall I heed and stand, or shall I run from him?
