To Never Risk, Is To Never Love

Once again I put you away,
in heartstrings you are bound...
I placed you on the shelf of unrealized dreams,
quietly, without sound.
And the sorrow that accompanies
this action that I take,
resides within this loving heart
and fills love’s dreams, her wondrous lake.
I will go to my sleep this night and dream
that just once, I have touched your hand...
And I’ll never wish to awaken from
this beautiful, wondrous land, that
surrounds these hearts, once touched.
I never, ever dreamed in life, that to love
could hurt so much.
I took every risk my heart could find
to let you know how true I could be,
but you turned around, said I was mean
and walked away from me.
You’ve judged me with the brushes
used on your last piece of canvas seen,
the one that simply washed away and
shattered all your dreams.
I thought the inspiration gone,
that love was fading, not as strong,
but every time you look at me...
Why is it I can still hear your song?
Only time will tell what will become
of you and yet of me...
Will God bring us together,
or will he one day set me free?
Only He knows the purpose of His trials,
only he know the reasons we touch -
Perhaps one day He will show me the why...
that I feel love for you so much.

A beautiful wish. Great love takes two and ignores minor diferences. Your next love will be better for the experience.
