This is an examination of self and the grasp for the second chance and the spiritual way the Universe has of taking care of her own.

~~~~~~~~~~~
I could have fallen further as I jacknifed and drowned
Preferring to be clueless to all that did abound
Here I stood grasping images... maps of distant places
Searching all my yesterdays among lines of tired old faces
With no inclination of what tomorrow brings
I lept into an abyss of pain and all my rusted things
I called upon my anger... this frustrated old soul
To this dieing individual with no inner goaI
Succumbing to life's cling and just grabbing at her straws
Knowing I was weaker because of all my scars
Putting all my anger and inner light aside
Preferring Hell's Chariot as a simpler way to ride
Down to despair and darkness... to a hole of nothingness
Down much deeper to the pitch to find the me in us
In a faint light it opened with no second chance for doubt
To literal suggestion I wrote my burning out
I quilled the final answer when my road stopped at strife
Came upon a second chance to redefine my life
I can see the focus now of spirits looking back
And just because pains have a past when license is but lack
My sight is through a fog now to sunny smiles and things
Among a map of all my truths to the spirit's inner ring
Living now is graceful with an extra beat in here
For history repairs itself when wisdom has no fear
Then out of acid springs the sweet... the sugar of all pleasing
When love flows out with all the tears and donates all the reasons
Then flying clouds allow the soars of fetile birth and flying
When love abounds and dresses down the negative of dieing..
Words saturated with emotion that the reflect the complexity of our souls and life. We stand inside a maze without directions or maps and only intuition to guide us. It never betrays us, we merely misinterpret at times. But beside giving way for disease and discomfort, time also heals in order to allow us to resume our path through the maze. Mavigating on shimmers of the Light that we in time learn to distinguish from ignis fatii.
When we were young, we looked through a darkened glass, now that we have grown up, and are mature adults, we see with the inner eye of experience and intuition, as it is...reality, whether good or bad, like someone said in the Den last night, we have choices in life, now we can make informed choices borne on that inner guile and wisdom, to effect the necessary and vital changes we must programme into our lives, if we seek to attain all our dreams and desires.
Your poetry continues to shine and sparkle my friend !
Very graphic images that scare and then offer hope as the phrases like Hell's Chariots change to ones of fertile birth and flying. You really outdid yourself with this one.
