What do you do when your hands are tied
When your heart is aching and your strength is tired
What can you do for a friend who needs to mend
Where to begin?
How do you uncage a magnificent bird
How can he eat, this is absurd
How do you rock him to sleep when he's cold
How to enfold?
Where do you run with him when you're through
Where does the Phoenix fly but to you
Where can you lull his weeping tears
Where down the years?
Hopeless and angry my tears well
Why has he fallen into this Hell
How can he live when he's not free to fly
Caught in this trap and not knowing why.
Love is the catalyst it unlocks the cage
Hopefully time will set the stage
Molting poor Phoenix how will you cope
Tethered and flightless ...caged with no hope.
It is possible to see things from a different perspective when awareness has discovered this life today is merely a stint in eternity. There will be other places and times, one time. The here and now may be offered as an opportunity to learn, which is quite difficult if much energy is spent being frustrated or rebellious. The Light never tests or willingly plunges HIS children in circumstances in which they wither; it is a lengthy learning track that we travel with many unpleasant instants and few joys often. But as long as we attempt to focus on the Light, we will make it. One way or an other. Thanks for sharing this great poetry. I enjoyed being here to read and ponder. Take care,
Great choice of composition words... with a good flow.
This one will fly, because it offers a chance to breaking from the cage, and to extend untried wings. This is a prescription to cure failure of the heart, ambition, love, ilfe. ... Good Poem!

Sis you have the compassion that draws those in need, and as we know it is a two edged sword. There comes a time they have to help themselves...Superior writing!

My experience of people who find themselves caged in, is because subconciously that is where they want to be...
They have neither the courage, insight or wit to liberate themselves from themselves...

Once again you set the pace, Susan. A masterful write, All of us are the Pheonix at times. We must pick ourselves up and allow a rebirth of joy and peace to enable our progress, ever onward and upward. Art

--->Fear not that you might fall...fear rather that you will never succeed.
--->Fear not that you might be hurt...fear rather that you might never grow.
--->Fear not that you might love and lose...fear rather that you might never love at all.
--->Fear not that you will be laughed at your mistakes...fear rather that Spirit may address you, "o ye of little faith."
--->Fear not that you might fall again...fear rather that you might have made it next time.
