Do we all bare a cross when we're born?
Or guilt we access on our way?
Is this Hell from the day we first squint at the sun
As the fresh and brand new innocent babes?
Are we crossing our crossroads forgiving the ones
That are paved easier but make us more skeptical?
Then cut up our feet and bruise our hearts
Choosing easier to find only diabolical?
Is it just me or am I over thinking
The wisdom in taking apart
The puzzles upset while making my path
Hoping to restart my start?
Is grace a word like a dress to wear
All gauzed up with illusions of smiles?
Is the crux of all living embraced by a few
Still carrying the awe of the child?
Am I different or just a free thinker
Poking and prodding my hours
In fanfares demensions to quest as a giant
Before all of my tastebuds turn sour?

I have those deamonensions, too. Little knats and irritating itches and strange desires. Nice juxtapositioning of the unrelated. ;-)

I'd deffo go with the free-thinker, we choose our paths, not always wisely (the voice of experience lol). But when we find the right path it all seems worth while somehow...still looking but getting there. Top write Susan, one that stimulates the grey matter.

YOu pose a lot of heartfelt and unfortunately unanswerable questions. However I do know that you, like I, have lived a full and wonderfully different life with many twist and turns along the way and many more paths still left to explore. We do though from time to time need to take stock and ponder the questions and the answers to life as you have done so eloquently in this poem today. Big hugs from another traveller along the way.

The fact that you, I, and others, are SEEKERS is confirmation as the greatest gift to mankind. Whatelse in the universe, known today, is there a creature who has such a capacity, a drive, and, as you are, bright poet, one driven to probe for answers which areeunderstood and acted upon?????
Susan, this is one of your best "brain" works. - Bill

You ask of what many have pondered over time Susan. I too and I have come to the conclusion that it is faith that gets us through. Faith, that gives freely of grace. Great write...

If we trust in our instincts and listen to our spirits, along with the knowledge accrued over time, we should be brave enough to dare to explore all avenues and search out new horizons even if it means getting hurt sometimes. Your graphic says it well, "those who seek the most find the most". I never stop being curious and searching for new adventures, and learning more about our Creator through all of His creation! I know you are like me so I think you're on the right track! Go for it Susan, whatever it is.;-) Great poem!

Yes, but there are those who make a profession of seeking, and never find. The key is; to know what it is , that you seek, and listen to others that have been down the same road. On the other hand, keeping one's eyes open for treasures along the way, is an adventure in itself. Art

You reap what you sew or so the saying goes but we can control our destiny much like a captain guides his ship. There will be storms that we encounter that require knowledge that we learned along the way.
